About Us
About Our Organization
Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Development
From the very beginning, we forged strong community bonds through goodwill events, tapping into the dedication of volunteers from diverse backgrounds. As champions of social inclusion, we provided opportunities for various ethnic and religious groups to actively contribute to improving the Human Development Index (HDI). Central to our mission was the mobilization of indigenous people, encouraging a progressive and participatory approach to local issues.
Legally registered as a nonprofit and non-political entity under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961, we have consistently delivered impactful initiatives across education, health, the environment, and Human & Natural Resource Development (HNRD).
Our education initiatives are particularly noteworthy. We provide scholarships for higher education, enroll orphans and students in schools, and offer technical education scholarships. To date, we have sponsored secondary and higher education for more than 1100 students, including 120 women, and established the Zindawar School System, which educates over 1500 children in remote areas of South Waziristan. Additionally, the Umma Children Academy orphanage offers free education, boarding, and lodging to more than 600 orphans. We have also rehabilitated four dysfunctional government schools and support semi-government Musa Nikka Public School and College (MNPS) through infrastructure development, management, and financial aid.
The Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) stands as a testament to the power of vision, dedication, and community spirit. Through our multifaceted approach, we continue to transform lives, fostering sustainable development and social change in some of the most underprivileged regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. With a steadfast commitment to education, health, environmental stewardship, and youth empowerment, our journey is one of hope, resilience, and unwavering dedication to creating a better future for all.
