Human and Natural Resource Development

Recognizing the environmental threats and untapped potential in the region, WAWA actively engages youth in conservation efforts. We connect natural resources with human development, equipping vulnerable youth with technical diplomas, advanced agriculture practices, enhanced skills, and connections to national and international platforms. By doing so, WAWA helps the youth earn a dignified livelihood while preserving the environment.

HNRD Projects

Local Farmers training on olive layering techniques.

WAWA provides training for local farmers on olive layering techniques, which is a method of vegetative propagation. This training helps farmers understand how to effectively cultivate olive trees, improving their yields and the quality of their produce. By adopting these advanced agricultural practices, farmers can enhance their productivity and increase their income. This initiative also promotes sustainable farming practices in the region, contributing to long-term agricultural development. Sub Division Wana has almost Four Lac Wild Olive. WAWA HNRD Committee grafted 35,798 wild olive plants. These grafted olive are in Shakai, Dana, Raghzai and Sholam.

Saffron Model Fields

WAWA has established saffron model fields to demonstrate the cultivation of this valuable crop. These fields serve as practical learning sites where local farmers can observe and learn the best practices for saffron farming. The initiative aims to introduce saffron cultivation as a lucrative agricultural activity, diversifying the income sources for farmers. By providing training and resources, WAWA helps farmers adopt this high-value crop, boosting their economic stability and agricultural innovation.

Distribution of harvesting equipment and extraction techniques training

WAWA supports local farmers by distributing essential harvesting equipment and providing training on advanced extraction techniques. This initiative helps farmers improve the efficiency and quality of their harvests, reducing postharvest losses and increasing profitability. The training sessions cover the use of modern tools and methods, enabling farmers to adopt more efficient and sustainable agricultural practices. By equipping farmers with the right tools and knowledge, WAWA enhances their productivity and contributes to the overall development of the agricultural sector.

WAWA has established Numerous WAWA Pista gardens

WAWA has developed pistachio gardens to promote the cultivation of pistachios in the region. These gardens act as demonstration sites where local farmers can learn about the best practices for growing and maintaining pistachio trees. The initiative aims to increase the production of pistachios, providing farmers with an additional source of income. By supporting pistachio cultivation, WAWA contributes to agricultural diversification and enhances the economic resilience of farming communities
